Upgraded from the original version to a new generation, AKIBA’S JOURNEY: Undead and Undressed Director’s Cut places players in the role of Nanashi, an otaku mysteriously turned into a vampire and thrown into a conspiracy of “Synthisters” plaguing the electronics mecca. Alongside a motley cast of allies known as the “Akiba Freedom Fighters,” Nanashi must defend his fellow otaku from predatory vampires, discovering that the best strategy to defeat them is to strip them of their essential elements and expose them to the purifying power of the sun! Featuring a fully voiced “true ending” path starring the lovable waitress Kati, original side-quests starring Akihabara’s offbeat otaku inhabitants, and an arsenal of new weapons and armor, AKIBA’S JOURNEY: Undead and Undressed Director’s Cut brings the modern day supernatural adventure for the discerning Japanophile.
Akihabara has seen everything from Japan’s postwar reconstruction to the bubblegum economic crisis of the 1980s. Always at the forefront of progress, with something to offer even the most unconventional appetites, it was almost inevitable that this singular technocracy of indulgence would transform itself into the perfect hunting ground for “Synthisters”, vampires who prey on the life energy of unsuspecting hunters of city figurines, maid café connoisseurs and cosplayers.
AKIBA’S JOURNEY: Undead and undressed tells the story of one such unfortunate soul: a young man named Nanashi who was lured into a trap and turned into one of the living undead. However, he was spared the worst of his fate by the bloody kiss of a mysterious Synthister Hunter named Shizuku. Along with the rest of her comrades in an organization unofficially dubbed the “Akiba Freedom Fighters”, Nanashi and Shizuku must discover the truth behind the Synthister plague and save Akiba from being overrun by violent and antisocial energy vampires.
And, of course, the best way to fight vampires is to strip them until they melt in the midday sun…
