The next and “biggest” Tomb Raider will be delivered by Amazon

Lara Croft looks very shocked about something.

To really step up the news, it was just announced that Amazon Games will be releasing the next one tomb Raider game. Following Square Enix’s retreat from the Western Frontand the sale of both developer Crystal Dynamics and the tomb Raider same license, it was unclear what might happen to Lara’s ongoing adventures, five years after her last outing. Now we know, even if we don’t know much.

In a press release from both Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics, the newlyweds announced a deal for a cross-platform game to be published globally by Mr. Bezos and company.

Now, it’s not news that there will be news tomb Raidereven because sure there is. But also because we learned about it earlier this year Crystal Dynamics (CD) plans to develop it using Unreal Engine 5. However, that was revealed a month earlier Square Enix’s surprise decision to sell most of its non-Japanese assets to the Embracer Group, assets which included Crystal Dynamics itself, leaving everything a mystery to anyone outside what must have been tumultuous circumstances.

It seems that when the dust settled, Amazon stepped in to claim a pretty huge prize and finally have a title in their game collection that everyone will have heard of. It is also an opportunity for Crystal Dynamics to try to make up some of the lost ground, following the in progress in slow motion view from the Very bland Wonder avengers being pushed against a bridge.

In a very communicative press release, all involved say how awfully excited they are to be working on such a gorgeous property of such awe-inspiring joy, but I guess in both companies’ offices it was mostly huge “PHEW!” sounds. While Amazon Games has produced a couple of interesting MMOs, they’ve only had Bandai Namco’s so far Blue Protocol to brag about next year, and that’s not a name your aunt has heard of. tomb Raider it will finally put the publisher on the map.

We know absolutely nothing of the new tomb Raider, not even his name. Today’s announcement calls it a “single-player narrative adventure,” which tells us nothing, but rather particularly describes Lara Croft as “multi-dimensional.” This is a power I’ve never seen her use before, if you don’t count coming back from the dead.

It’s been four years since then The shadow of Tomb Raider, and given how clearly early days this new game is (we haven’t seen even a piece of concept art yet), it looks like this sequel could break the record for gaps between entries in the franchise. The last longest was between the end of the best trilogy of the series (Fight Me), that of 2008 Underworldand one of his worst voicesthe horrible 2013 reboot with the stupid name, tomb Raider. I predict we will see it announced for March 2024 and release in November of the same year.
